* On our website, puzzles are classified based on the required minimum moves to solve each puzzle: Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced. This puzzle book is aimed at both adults and children, so children who have just started to learn Shogi and adults who claim they are Shogi masters can enjoy it!

Shogi Board of 5×5 Squares

Our original Shogi puzzle mat has two sides, which is well designed for children, especially children who has just started learning Shogi. Its face is for Shogi puzzles, and its back has a board of 5×5 squares.

Once you have learned moves of pieces and basic Shogi rules, you can enjoy playing a game on a board of 9×9 squares. However, children who are new to Shogi often find it difficult to overlook the entire board with cautions. As a result, they can’t decide which piece should be moved and they fail to terminate a game they are playing.

Reducing the number of squares of board, from 9×9 to 5×5, will provide children wider view, so that they can know which piece they should move to where.

Aren’t you wondering whether Shogi puzzles and 5×5 squares Shogi are actually worth to play?
“An attempt is sometimes easier than expected.”
